01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Nestled amidst the lush greenery of Nusa Tenggara Timur’s Manggarai Barat region, OSENLEN RESTAURANT offers an enchanting dining experience that captures the very essence of Indonesian culinary charm. Situated on Jl Trans Flores in Siru, right by a serene waterfall, this hidden gem promises not just a meal, but a sensory journey that delights both the palate and the soul.

OSENLEN RESTAURANT specializes in authentic Indonesian flavors, with a menu that, while concise, is expertly curated to showcase the very best of the region's traditional dishes. Among the standout offerings, the beef satay emerges as a must-try—succulent, richly spiced, and expertly grilled to a tender perfection that melts in your mouth. The chicken with potato is another crowd-pleaser, combining hearty textures with savory depth, punctuated by fresh, vibrant gado-gado drenched in a satay sauce so superb it earns a perfect ten from delighted guests. Complementing these dishes are freshly pressed juices, with the dragon fruit juice accented by a zesty dash of lemon standing out as a particularly refreshing companion to your meal.

What truly sets OSENLEN apart, however, isn’t just the food but the extraordinary atmosphere. Imagine settling down to dine just steps away from a gentle waterfall, surrounded by the peaceful canopy of a tropical forest. The delicate sound of cascading water, the cool breeze that whispers through the leaves, and the rustic charm of the open-air seating combine to create an atmosphere of tranquility and rejuvenation. Multiple guests have shared how this serene setting made their meals unforgettable, enhancing every bite with a sense of calm and connection to nature.

The welcoming spirit of OSENLEN’s staff and owners further elevates the experience. Their genuine warmth and hospitality make every visitor feel like an honored guest, whether you arrive on a quiet afternoon or during their expanding refurbishment phase. They even go the extra mile, crafting fresh fruit bowls off-menu to delight unexpected tastes. The presence of reliable WiFi makes this an ideal spot for travelers seeking to unwind while staying connected.

For those journeying between Labuan Bajo and Ruteng, OSENLEN RESTAURANT is more than a pitstop—it is a destination in itself. The restaurant’s unique combination of exceptional food, stunning natural surroundings, and heartfelt hospitality transforms every meal here into a cherished memory. If your travels bring you this way, resist the urge to rush past; linger a little longer, savor the flavors that capture the heart of Flores, and let the peaceful waterfall soundtrack your dining experience.

Small options but really delicious dishes. Try the beef sate! The juices are fresh, try the dragon fruit juice with dash of lemon. Sit downstairs next to the waterfall. Serene and breezy. Good WiFi too.

Wow the food here is really exceptional and such amazing value! The location itself is surprisingly lovely with the waterfall next to the seating area despite being on the road. We came here on our way to and from Wae Rebo and both meals were excellent. The chicken with potato is very popular and very delicious, the gado gado is awesome as the satay sauce is 10/10. The fried banana is so tasty you must try. Even the fried rice was unreal. Can't recommend this place enough I would give 6 stars if I could.

Really friendly owner and staff who welcomed us in even though they were supposed to be closed for refurbishments. They are expanding the restaurant which sits by a waterfall in the forest below the road. Food was tasty, juices were lovely and the staff were also kind enough to make a bowl of fresh fruit which wasn't on the menu. A great lunch stop - don't miss it!

This restaurant truly offers a fantastic atmosphere – from the moment you walk in, you immediately feel welcomed and relaxed. The ambiance is beautifully designed and creates the perfect setting to enjoy an unforgettable meal. The food was absolutely outstanding. You can really tell that the owners put a lot of thought and care into serving healthy dishes made with high-quality ingredients. Everything tastes fresh, balanced, and crafted with intention. The flavor combinations were truly unique. Potatoes with peanut sauce, dragon fruit, and fresh basil leaves – what a crazy yet incredibly delicious combination! It sounds unusual, but it works perfectly and creates a one-of-a-kind taste experience. And in the and, we got some dragon fruit Juices as present. The Owner of this Restaurant is very friendly and open. If you’re nearby, you definitely have to stop here. It’s a place you won’t forget!

Oh my gosh this place is absolutely amazing and has made my day today. Very lovely people, the food is very delicious and the location itself is just unreal. I love the waterfall and the lush green around the restaurant and the concept/design of the place. If you go from Labuan Bajo to Ruteng (or further) it’s a must do stop. I would be there every day if I could and it is definitely one of good reasons to Return to Flores one day.
